What to Do & Eat: Shanghai Layover Plans

If you have 3–5 Hours:

Best to stay within Pudong Airport (PVG) Terminal 2 to avoid missing your connection.

  • Grab delicious soup dumplings at Yang’s Dumplings Express (check for airport branch).
  • Explore shops and dining options within the terminal.
  • Relax in one of the airport lounges (access may depend on your ticket or lounge membership).

If you have 6–8 Hours:

You can venture out for a quick taste of the city center.

  • Take the Maglev train + Metro Line 2 to East Nanjing Road Station.
  • Walk to The Bund: Stroll along the Huangpu River, enjoy the iconic skyline views of Pudong.
